Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a chemical whose molecules are composed of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms. This substance is part of the life cycle on earth and the photosynthetic activity of plants depends on this substance. Carbon dioxide is also obtained from the respiration of living things. This gas is released by burning fossil fuels, volcanic activity, fermentation of sugars and other chemical reactions.
